Trip Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy for local and international sailing adventures

We appreciate your business and it’s an honor to help you get from where you are to where you want to be in the world of sailing. When you submit payment for a sail training adventure, we mobilize the boats, instructors, and secure the dates on the calendar. We often sell out.

Please review the Trip Cancellation Policy prior to submitting payment for a sail training adventure. By submitting payment, you are agreeing to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not pay.

If You Have to Cancel

If you have paid for all or a portion of your course or trip and you cancel for any reason, there is no refund.  We will hold 50% of your payment as a credit for use on a future course or trip within 12 months of the one you paid for. No refunds for NauticEd course materials. This is the policy we adhere to. If you do not agree, please do not pay.

If We Have to Cancel

If we cancel the course or trip for any reason, we will offer a refund of the amount you paid us. There is no allowance for any other expenses you may have incurred.

International Trips and Concerns About Covid, Government Actions, Airline Travel Restrictions, and Weather

First, know that we pay for the boat we charter on international trips many months before the trip. The charter companies do not offer refunds, and have severe limitations on rescheduling.

  • International travel involves some risk.
  • Travel insurance is a way to mitigate that risk.
  • If you have concerns, we highly recommend that you research and purchase travel insurance that will make these risks acceptable to you.

Covid, Government Actions, Airline Travel Restrictions

  • If at any time within 120 to 90 days prior to travel to our destination charter base there is an actual change in travel permission by airlines or the government of any country which, prevents travel to the destination charter country or prevents our clients from returning to their home country after the charter, we will seek rescheduling of the trip with the charter company. The charter company may refuse to reschedule, and a rescheduled trip may cost you more than the originally scheduled trip. There will be no refunds for the sailing trip or any expense related to your travel or travel preparations.

Weather

  • Once you have arrived at the charter base in the destination country, if a weather event prevents or delays our departure, or for reasons of safety and seamanship demands that we return earlier or later than our scheduled dates and times, there will be no refunds for the sailing trip or any expense related to your travel or travel preparations.
