Bareboat Rank and SLC Training and Assessment in the Channel Islands
Achieving your Bareboat Charter Master Rank is a step that will enable you to charter sailing yachts around the world. And, if you are planning on chartering in the Mediterranean, you need your SLC - the international sailing license to charter. I would bet that you’ve been thinking about it. The good news is, getting your practical assessment for the SLC and BBCM in the challenging and rewarding Channel Islands will open a whole new world of opportunity, right off the Southern California coast.
It’s been said that if you can cruise the Channel Islands, you can cruise anywhere. It can be windy and wild, there’s amazing scenery, and once away from the marina there are no moorings, no grocery stores or beach bars, and rarely any crowds. Sailing Skill Endorsements will also be awarded to successful grads including Heavy Weather Experience (depending on conditions), Anchoring, Maneuvering Under Power, and Crew Overboard Rescue. Each day includes time for snorkeling and exploring ashore. Students provision the boat with guidance from the instructor.
