Get beyond Avalon, Two Harbors, and learn how to enjoy the freedom of the experienced cruiser.  There are 28 great coves at Catalina, and only 11 of them have moorings.  If you've ever been stressed about the availability of moorings at Catalina, this class is for you.

Learn how to size up a new anchorage, pick the best spot, and anchor bow and stern comfortably near other boats.  We also show you how to handle deep water anchorages such as at Isthmus Cove and Hen Rock, and we practice picking up moorings.  Uses the text, "Anchoring at Catalina," by Marc Hughston.

We've been running this class 3-4 times a year since 2007.  Anchoring at Catalina is one of the most useful skills you can acquire, and it will serve you around the globe and throughout your sailing career.

Cruises fill 4-6 months in advance.  Book now if you are interested! Conducted thru the OCC School of Sailing and Seamanship in Newport Beach.  Contact OCC for pricing and availability.
