SKPR/Basic Cruising- day 1

Skipper / Basic Cruising.  For novice to intermediate sailors, this course focuses on the fundamental competencies and achieving confidence. Conducted on a modern sailing yacht, the 1st of 3 in the series, which includes:

Departing from the slip or a side-tie
Maneuvering under sail in close quarters
Operations in open water including tacking, gybing, steering a compass course, points of sail and trimming, reefing
Safety and emergency procedure and maneuvers including depowering, accepting a tow, crew overboard rescue, advanced maneuvers under power
Picking up a mooring, anchoring, and returning to the slip or side-tie
Securing the boat
